We keep good company.

While the CMU Checkoff will be funded by producers and run by producers, there is a specific role for the Department of Commerce (DOC). The DOC is charged with ensuring fair representation of the board by appointing industry-nominated producer board members, review of the budget and third-party confirmation of compliance with the Act & Order.
The overarching goal of the DOC is to help the U.S. economy grow, which could create additional partnership opportunities for the concrete masonry industry. Focus areas of the DOC include job creation, ensuring climate-smart products and fostering innovation.

Design Escapes
The CMU Checkoff Initiative was created by producers frustrated with continual loss of market share. That frustration was compounded when program ideas surfaced that could drive demand, but there was no way to fund multi-year, well-funded programs that would change outdated perceptions of CMU.
