Latest Update:

October 19, 2022

The road from the initial concept of a concrete masonry checkoff to the first meeting of the CMU Checkoff Board of Directors has been long and eventful to say the least. As we move closer to that first operational session, we are are poised to take another significant step toward unifying our industry and building a better future for all producers.

I suspect that many in the industry may want to be present for this historic meeting. Board meetings will always be open to the general public – transparency is paramount to the checkoff. There will be no registration fee for attendees, but hotel and meals are at the expense of attendees. We do ask that everyone attending register in advance to ensure we have adequate seating and name tags prepared.

The meeting will be held Wednesday, November 16 through Thursday, November 17 in Chicago at the Rosemont Hyatt Place, near O’Hare. We’ll start at 9 a.m. on the 16th and be wrapped up by noon on the 17th.

On November 16, all are invited to dinner at Harry Caray’s Steakhouse. Meeting attendees who are not board members or invited guests are welcome to attend the dinner at a cost of $125. Please be sure to confirm your attendance on the registration form.

We look forward to getting the checkoff up and running and welcome you to join us.

Best regards,

Ray McVeigh

Design Escapes
The CMU Checkoff Initiative was created by producers frustrated with continual loss of market share. That frustration was compounded when program ideas surfaced that could drive demand, but there was no way to fund multi-year, well-funded programs that would change outdated perceptions of CMU.
